Thank you for your interest in being a member of an Outbound Counting Team!

The Counting Teams are boots-on-the ground and directly interact with the individuals we are seeking to count.

Be assured that you will not be alone at any time and each team member will have a specific task – counter, look out, interviewer, scribe

Teams will include a Homeless advocate who works with this population daily and familiar with the areas

Coverage Area: Forsyth County. Each team will be assigned a specific quadrant/section of Forsyth County in which to count. These quadrants/sections have been predesignated and are familiar to Homeless Advocates.

Transportation: Since transportation for the Outbound Counting Teams is not provided for teams, we are relying on individual volunteers to use their vehicles to drive team members. If you have a vehicle large enough to accommodate 5 to 6 team members and/or willing to be a driver, please let us know.

Shifts:

There are 3 Outbound Counting Team Shifts: 

Shift 1: 9:00 PM – 12:00 AM [Midnight] (Volunteers arrive at 8PM briefing and prepare to go out)

Shift 2: 11:30PM - 2:30AM 

 (Volunteers arrive at 10:30PM briefing and prepare to go out)

Shift 3: 2:00 AM – 4:00 AM 

 (Volunteers arrive at 1AM briefing and prepare to go out)

Training/Orientation:

Volunteers, whether this is your first-time volunteering with PIT Count or more, everyone will be trained and participate in an orientation session.

Prep-event training will be available and highly encouraged for volunteers.

Emergency Contact Information: Volunteers will be asked to provide the name and contact number of someone to call in the event of an emergency.
