Working with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom. Using various teaching methods and developing individually structured teaching plans tailored to the pupil's needs and learning styles. Preparing and maintaining equipment and resources and assisting pupils in their use.

About the Need: Assisting the Food Pantry Associates with the boxing and distribution of the packed food boxes for clients in the community. Assisting with stocking the shelves and freezers with food Assisting staff by preparing client food boxes/bags Assisting with discarding expired foods Keeping the food pantry clean and free of trash, boxes, and expired foods Vacuuming the pantry area

Help needed at Food Pantry (No background check needed)

Primary Responsibilities: The Food Pantry Assistants will assist the Food Pantry Manager with day-to-day operations of the Food Pantry:

Assembling boxes for packing of food for the for clients in the community.  Assist with stocking the shelves and freezers with food. Ability to discern between expired and fresh foods. Assist with keeping the food pantry clean and free of trash, boxes, and expired foods. Vacuuming/sweeping the Food Pantry. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM.  Volunteers must be able to lift heavy boxes and be on their feet for long periods are a huge help.  Wear appropriate clothing (no short shorts, belly shirts or inappropriate language on clothing), and must wear closed toed shoes (no sandals).  Assisting at the mobile pantries or drive-thru pantries is a no-contact distribution. All volunteers must be over the age of 16 years old.

Shelter Needs: 

Bake and prepare snacks for children residing in the Center of Hope. Place individually sized portions into snack-size Ziploc bags: Brownies, cookies, cupcakes, healthy snacks      

Assemble Hygiene Kits – Needed items for Center of Hope Family Shelter residents and place them in Ziploc bags.

Female Kits: Deodorant, soap or body wash, shampoo and conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste, washcloth, lotion, disposable razors, hairbrush, hand sanitizer, Band-Aids, lip balm

Male Kits: Deodorant, soap or body wash, shampoo and conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste, washcloth, disposable razors, shaving cream, comb, hand sanitizer, Band-Aids, lip balm

Kits for Children: 

Shower shoes - kids sizes small flip flops, soap, kid-friendly shampoo and conditioner, kid-friendly toothbrush and toothpaste, toothbrush cover, dental floss, washcloths, lotion, wide toothcombs or brush, hair bands or bows, place inside a gallon-sized bag, prayer card or note.

All dry food items: Cereal, Breakfast Items, Grits, Pancake Mix, Oatmeal, Rice, Mashed Potatoes, Syrup, Mac n’ Cheese, Canned Meats, Spaghetti/Noodles, Spaghetti Sauce, Boxed meals, Peanut Butter, Canned Fruit

School Supplies

Book Bag (please place items in Book bag), Several binders with dividers, Packs of loose leaf paper, Packs of #2 pencils, Pens: Black, blue and red, Pack of highlighters, Glue sticks, Pencil pouch, Index cards, Dry erase markers, 2-pocket folders with prongs  (to use in core and elective classes), Composition notebooks, Pack of colored pencils or markers, Graph paper, Book bag, Hand sanitizer, Box of Kleenex, Hand-held pencil sharpener, Erasers

We are looking for churches, organizations, and individuals who may want to collaborate with us to assist with the needs at the Center of Hope Shelter. We have a monthly need list

Welcome Home Baskets

A basket is given to residents when they move into permanent housing.

Broom, Dustpan, Mop & Bucket Cleaning supplies – Lysol, Tilex, sponges,

Pads, dishwashing liquid, Windex, etc. Paper towels, Dish drain – used to dry dishes.

Pots and pans, Glasses, Oven mitts, Dishtowels, Dishcloths, Cooking Utensils, Dishes,

Silverware, Detergent

Please place items into a laundry basket or clothes hamper, allowing easy moving and giving families the essential goods for moving into their new homes.
