Thank you for volunteering for the 2023 MLK National Day of Service!

About MLK National Day of Service
Taking place each year on the third Monday in January, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day of Service (MLK Day) is the only federal holiday that is also designated by Congress as a National Day of Service – a “day on, not a day off.”
Reflective of the United Way of Forsyth County mission that “brings the community and its resources together to solve problems that no one organization can address alone,” the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service is a testament of what giving back is all about.
About this Volunteer Opportunity/Community Service Event
United Way of Forsyth County is commemorating the MLK National Day of Service by organizing a community service event and volunteer opportunity supporting Carver High School which is located in the UWFC’s Place Matters footprint.
About the Assignment:
Volunteers will be refreshing and refurbishing student spaces at Carver High School including organizing and displaying merchandise (clothing, athletic wear, etc.) in the Champions “Legacy” Incentive Store, taking inventory and organizing stock in the family engagement room and refreshing the flower bed in the cafeteria courtyard (weather permitting).
These are light-duty assignments that may require lifting and bending.

- Please arrive between 1:30 PM and 1:45 PM to sign in and prep for your assignment.
- Free parking is available.
- Enter the school through the main entrance (front).
